Ozora Venture and Gobi Partners Introduce $10M Seed Fund for Women Entrepreneurs in Indonesia

Gobi Partners and Ozora Yatrapaktaja have teamed up to launch the Ratu Nusa Fund, a $10 million seed fund aimed at empowering women-led startups in Indonesia. This fund will target companies in sectors like health tech, e-commerce, fintech, and education, focusing on seed-stage and pre-Series A startups. The initiative also prioritizes businesses that improve the livelihoods of women, particularly in underserved regions like Surabaya, Bali, and Medan, while leveraging technology for scalability and efficiency.

The Ratu Nusa Fund addresses the gender funding gap in venture capital by providing opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Indonesia, a country with approximately 30 million active female entrepreneurs. Gobi Partners co-founder Thomas Tsao emphasized the importance of this fund in fostering a thriving startup ecosystem for women. Ozora Venture’s founding partner Margaret Srijaya expressed optimism about identifying local startup "treasures" and scaling their impact regionally, leveraging Ozora’s strong local networks and expertise.

Gobi Partners, with $1.5 billion in assets under management, has a history of empowering diverse leaders and promoting gender equality through initiatives like She Loves Tech and the Asia Gender-Smart Investing Forum. Similarly, Ozora Venture is deeply rooted in Indonesia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and is committed to advancing the Vision of Indonesia 2045. Its founding partner, Srijaya, is also an advocate for women empowerment through Womenpreneurs.id, a thriving online community that fosters self-improvement and entrepreneurship. Together, these firms aim to unlock the untapped potential of women entrepreneurs in Indonesia and beyond.
